Short version

grounded does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. Your app data stays on your device.

What we collect

Nothing.

grounded does not operate its own servers, use analytics services, or include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

We do not receive information identifying who you are, which apps you choose to block, when you use your phone, or what you enter into grounded.

What is stored on your device

grounded stores information locally on your device that is necessary for the app to function. This may include:

• Blocks you create, including names, schedules, difficulty settings, and the opaque app tokens Apple provides for selected apps
• App settings, including notification preferences and accountability-contact settings
• Unlock events, including which block was unlocked, when it was unlocked, and text you entered as part of the unlock process
• App confessions and streak counts
• Purchase and entitlement status

This information is stored locally on your device and, where necessary, in a shared iOS App Group used by grounded and its system extensions.

We do not upload this information to our servers because we do not operate servers for grounded, and we do not transmit this information to third parties.

Apple Screen Time and Family Controls

grounded uses Apple's FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks to block selected apps and enforce schedules.

Apple's Screen Time APIs use privacy-preserving, opaque tokens to represent apps selected by the user. grounded uses these tokens to apply your blocking preferences without receiving the underlying app identifiers through the selection process.

Screen Time restrictions and schedules are managed on your device using Apple's frameworks.
